MIL-A-8625: Anodic Coatings for Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys
MIL-A-8625 is the military specification titled Anodic Coatings for Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys. This specification covers the requirements for electrolytically formed anodic coatings on aluminum and aluminum alloys for non-architectural applications*. It gives the details, methods, and procedures for these various coatings.
Whereas MIL-STD-171 only gives the general description of available finishes and is a guide to the selection of the correct type of finish.
MIL-A-8625 is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
