PRODUCTS AND EQUIPMENT

Sanford offers three (3) Process options to cover the broadest possible range of hardcoating applications for prospective users of hardcoating:

*SANFORD CLASSIC PROCESS™ ; using Sanford's additive "Sanfran" conventional high voltage hard anodizing can be successfully performed on all alloys.

*SANFORD + PLUS PROCESS™ uses a patented low voltage D.C. current, with superimposed A.C. current to provide state-of-the-art hard anodized finishes of extraordinary thickness;

*SANFORD QUANTUM PROCESS™ is a room temperature process that uses a low voltage D.C. current with A.C. current superimposed to hard anodized in any desired color.

EQUIPMENT

The Sanford Low Voltage System provides the precise levels of current needed for greatest efficiency at various stages of each of the Process variations (Sanford + Plus and Sanford – Quantum). Several control units are generally used for the Process: Remote control box and Diagnostic unit, for discovering and identifying trouble, Transformer units, Saturable Core Reactor units and a Safety box. see details

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE

Operation and routine maintenance of the Process equipment does not require technical or electrical knowledge or ability. In addition to extensive, practical training of operation and maintenance personnel, licensees receive a comprehensive instruction manual. Each part of the Process equipment is labeled with a specific part number, to identify it for maintenance and replacement. Almost any additional information needed for occasional adjustments and repairs to the equipment can be received by phone or fax conference from Sanford’s representatives.

INSTALLATION

Sanford can act as a general contractor for installation of the Process equipment. The company will arrange for installation of a "turn-key" hardcoating plant if required. All Process components (chiller units, tank lines, exhaust system, hoists and conveyors, waste treatment systems, the SANFRAN system, test lab, plumbing, and electrical systems) are installed, and placed in commercial operation under Sanford supervision.

TRAINING AND CONSULTATION

Sanford doesn’t just guarantee the equipment; the Process is guaranteed to work as expected and represented for each new licensee. A Sanford Process license opens the door to thirty-five years of experience and expertise in hardcoating. Sanford guides each step of the installation process to ensure a successful start-up and operation of the Process facility. Afterwards, we offer up to five (5) days of on-site training for the licensee’s personnel; technical support and operator training are always available for licensees at Sanford headquarters in Natick, (Mass.), convenient to the Boston area.

WASTE MANAGEMENT AND WATER USE

The techniques used in the Process minimize environmental and ecological problems customarily associated with hardcoating. One of the European licensees for the Process operates without difficulty in a rural area of Switzerland, where it is subject to some of the strictest waste and water treatment standards in the world. The recent introduction of a "closed loop" rinse retrieval system effectively reclaims up to eighty percent (80%) of water used in the Process™. Sanford will use the Process for complimentary hardcoating of samples submitted to its Natick plant by prospective licensees. This makes possible first-hand viewing of the quality results that are achievable with the Process. Further information regarding the Process license, income potential, capital costs, and expenses can be obtained from our office:
